bLeecKeR tEEs: Long Island Tropical Paradise"

This t-shirt literally made me laugh out loud the first time I saw it, LOL, jk.  My friend from Long Island, aka Strong Island, aka the Tropical Paradise first introduced me to this cotton gem.
I do not know much about bLeecKeR tEEs except that they make funny, clever tees.  Typically I am not one for these types of shirts, but this one is just on another level.

The description bLeecKeR gives Long Island Tropical Paradise is so priceless I will stick with their own words.  Here they are:
"I’ve never been to Long Island but from what I hear, it sounds amazing. The indigenous people often tell me of the endless beaches, tropical waters, and delicious bagels. This island paradise claims among its residents both Billy Joel and Bill O’Reilly. With such well known Bills calling it home, Long Island must surely be an incredible place. Perhaps one day I’ll retire to this tropical paradise, sit under the lush palm trees and let the sweet sounds of steel drums lull me off to sleep."

If you are from the island or are friends with someone from Long Island please buy this t-shirt.  The tee is light blue with green print and can be bought for only $8.99!  Every time I see the shirt it makes me laugh, so I hope it makes you laugh too.

New Johnny Cupcakes Tees!

These are two new Johnny Cupcakes tees for the summer.  On the blog it said they would be up today or the latest tomorrow.  Well they weren't up today, so hopefully they will be posted tomorrow!  In total there are five new tees being released.

So I chose the Jaws shirt because I think it is fun and witty.  This shirt is obviously poking fun at the famous movie, Jaws.  I appreciate the bib on the shark, as well as, the Johnny Cupcakes logo on the back with a big shark bite missing.  I think this is a fun summer tee which will get people to smile (especially if you wear it on Martha's Vineyard where the movie was filmed).  In the same regard you may get some older folks confused as to how Jaws and cupcakes fit together.  Either way this t-shirt is the perfect way to kick off the summer, so go pick it up before anyone.

The other shirt I chose to share was just a purple logo tee.  There isn't anything exciting about this one, but it is classically Johnny Cupcakes and I love the color.  The color is fresh and fun for this summer.

If you like these tees check the site tomorrow, hopefully they will be up.  Enjoy!

Vaughn de Heart Tees Inspire

Don't have much time to elaborate today, but I will be writing another post about this company in greater detail within the next few weeks, but wanted to share something with you since I have been m.i.a. for a bit.

Let's talk about Vaughn de Heart and their first design "Les gens courageux".  This saying in French translates to "The fearless ones".  Apparently the words are referring to the creator's (RoyLyn Le'Vaughan Palmer-Coleman) fear of starting this awesome little t-shirt company.  To be honest I do not know what the fear was at all.  All of these t-shirts are to the point and bold.  The tees are not bold in a tacky or over the top way either, there is a simplicity and elegance to them which I greatly enjoy.

I do appreciate the message behind this shirt though.  We all have fears, the fear of failure holds many of us back from taking risks and reaching our true potential.  I commend Vaughn de Heart for taking that leap and coming out with a unique fun product.  If you are into this tee as much as I am pick it up for $22.  Enjoy!

OMUNKY See MUNKY Do

OMUNKY, monkey see monkey do?  If this is the case we hope everyone sees what OMUNKY is doing and they start to take actions to improve our environment and world the way they have.  I love that they print their tees on 100% organic-cotton or recycled cotton. I also appreciate the fact that they are a small operation, but producing such big designs. Oh yeah and the shirts are made in the USA, which always wins points with me.
"Munky-Rhythm" actually made me laugh when I first saw it.  The reason is that my father had a monkey as a child which looked very similar to this.  The monkey was a female and very territorial when it came to the men of the family.  One day after my grandmother had just gotten her hair done the monkey jumped on her, messed her hair all up, and locked my grandma into the closet.  When my father came home from school he heard his mother screaming in the closet.  haha

I am pretty sure this was not Rick Waters' (the company creator) inspiration, but it made this tee stick out the most for me.  "Munky-Rhythm" is very fun and if you like it as I do, go get it for $22.  One thing to note is that 5% of your order will be donated to WildAid.  Hurry up and pick up this t-shirt!

Create Your Own At Indieshirts.com

I have to say, I am extremely impressed by this company -- it was a little surprise I stumbled upon  while trying to find a vintage t-shirt I have been trying to track down.  This Phoenix-based company was started by a couple of friends on a road trip with minds full of ideas.
indieshirts.com offers a variety of colors, sizes and styles. The shirts are made for both women and men and are unique in the t's quirky messages and individually customizable looks that can be added to any wardrobe.  There are a variety of pre-made designs ranging from simple geometric shapes to animals to everyday objects like airplanes, bicycles, and even care-labels.  The other options are a simple blank-basic t-shirt or creating your own message for your t-shirt.

indieshirts.com offers so many options which is extremely impressive, but what stands out most is an interesting fact located in the website's FAQ: each tshirt is created upon its order.  Unlike many other companies, these young entrepreneurs do not mass produce their work!  Buyers have a choice of an organic or cotton tee that very closely resemble those made by American Apparel in a v-neck or scoop neck style.

It is very difficult for me to pin-point one tee as my favorite because there are so many gems -- this site is definitely worth checking out!  The t-shirt in the picture about is called "Cassette".  Remember those things?

Awaken Clothing: "Logo Tee"

Awaken Clothing is a company which I have know about for sometime.  It all started back in 2007 and to be 100% honest I was not totally impressed with the product initially.  However I must say that Awaken has really turned around and found their true identity.  The t-shirts they are making are just as good as anyone out there.  The style of the tees are unique and have a real indie feel, which I like.  Another aspect I enjoy is that they do not have 20 t-shirts, they have four right now.  It makes the product seem almost elite and more focused.  I am also a huge fan of their goal, which is to spread a message of hope and love.  These days I think that is what all of our goal should be.

So I chose the "Logo Tee," because I am a sucker for logo tees!  I must say their logo is very cool and I like the simplicity, but roughness to it.  I also like the grey with white, not many people do this and it is a great look in my opinion.  This tee is versatile in that you could wear it to a very casually or to a more dressed up occasion.  If you enjoy this tee too, pick it up for only $16.99!

I nearly forgot...  Awake has also re-created "Are You Awake" and the tees are in production.  If you like this tee and want to order a pre-release you can and save an extra $2 by using the discount code "imawake".  Also "Mighty Warrior Tee" is having a last call and you can get this for only 7.99!  Check it all out.
